A year ago, I saw a captivating parallel between top-level athletes and women in tech, these athletes of innovation. This parallel goes beyond the simple quest for performance, embodying values of tolerance and progress, which inspire future generations. My book “Athlètes de l’innovation”, published last May by Flammarion, grew out of this reflection.
Just like Olympic athletes, women in tech show determination, discipline and resilience to overcome obstacles, often technical but also societal, in a field that is still predominantly dominated by men. Sarah Ourahmoune, Olympic boxing vice-champion and entrepreneur, illustrates this struggle perfectly in the preface to the book.
The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games were more than just a competition; they celebrated humanity in all its diversity and potential. It was also a moment when sport and technology together pushed back the boundaries of excellence, while inspiring a new generation of leaders. Like the champions we have been supporting all summer, women in tech are the heroes of our time, carrying the spark for change and shaping a future where innovation and inclusion go hand in hand.
These women are innovating in fields such as artificial intelligence, healthcare or fintech, creating solutions that are transforming the world, just like athletes in search of medals. They embody a new era where technology serves the common good, just as sport unites and lifts spirits.
Congratulations to all the athletes at the Games, whose uniqueness has enriched this event in a unique way, and thank you to all those who are supporting JFD towards the podium of equality.
