UNDER THE HIGH PATRONAGE OF THE PRESIDENT OF
THE FRENCH REPUBLIC
JFD lands the Moon for les Margaret 2022 and embarks les Margaret Juniors on board the Artemis I mission, the first preparatory flight for a human return to the Moon.
JFD, the growth accelerator, is celebrating its 10th anniversary and for this occasion brought together the European and African tech ecosystem in Paris on 8 March, International Women’s Rights Day. An exceptional anniversary edition with patron Christel Bories, CEO of Eramet, where the 10th Margaret ceremony took place, under the high patronage of the President of the French Republic. It was under the sign of hope that JFD awarded the Margaret 2022.
JFD reached for the moon for les Margaret by giving them a moon fragment. A timeless gesture achieved in collaboration with designer Rose Mercier. These lunar meteorites are more than 4 billion years old and take more than 100,000 years to arrive on Earth. Only 20 kilos are found each year, there is nothing rarer or more precious in the world.
Les Margaret 2022 are:
Eléna POINCET, Founder & CEO Tehtris in the Entrepreneur Europe category, Ariane AKERET SOUFIANO, Co-founder & CEO CA Pay in the Entrepreneur Africa category, Sue BLACK, Professor of computer science & technology Durham University in the Intrapreneur Europe category, Cléo NGOKOUDI, Finance Manager Anka in the Intrapreneur Africa category, Allyah SEMIAI in the Junior Europe category and Malebina TSOTSOTSO in the Junior Africa category.

Shamim Nabuuma Kaliisa received the Margaret Jury’s Hope Award as founder of Chil AI Lab.
She was awarded an original artwork by Caroline Corbasson, specially designed for the JFD: the Wish, a symbol of a hopeful dream for a more just and creative world.
Caroline Corbasson is a young artist, inspired by Einstein, for whom imagination was more important than knowledge.
Objective Moon for les Margaret Juniors!
Allyah Semiai and Malebina Tsotsotso, the two Margaret Juniors, will benefit from the JFD Growth Accelerator programme to develop their entrepreneurial project, a scholarship and will digitally participate in the ARTEMIS I mission, the first preparatory flight for human return to the Moon.
In May, the two names of the Margaret Juniors 2022 will be added to the flight manifest of the Orion spacecraft, which will orbit the Moon for 25 days. They will thus have a front row seat on a crucial mission that will pave the way for a permanent human settlement on the Moon by 2025 and allow a woman to take her first step on the Moon.
“Following Margaret Hamilton, who made it possible for Man to walk on the Moon, JFD allows the future generation to witness this exceptional adventure which will lead to the first step of a woman on the Moon in 2025. The success of the NASA Artemis I mission is crucial to pave the way for a permanent human settlement on the Moon by 2025.” Delphine Remy-Boutang, Présidente, Founder JFD & the Bureau is delighted that “les Margaret juniors are taking part in the epic lunar exploration of the 21st century, the advent of a new era for humanity and the first step of a woman on the Moon. What better way to reward the creativity and audacity of young digital girls!”
“I’m proud to have put a far-reaching CSR policy at the heart of Eramet’s model, which is reflected in our raison d’être: “to become a reference in the responsible processing of the Earth’s mineral resources, for the good of all. And that is exactly what all these young women are doing through their projects to enable us to live well together.” Christel BORIES, PDG Eramet & Patron JFD 2022
Full speed ahead for financing women entrepreneurs!
Ten years ago to the day, on March 8, JFD launched its first edition with the ambition to reveal the energy and talent of women in tech. Delphine Remy-Boutang has always fought to bring the next European and African champions into orbit. And in 10 years, JFD has become more than just an event, it has become an essential growth accelerator for women in tech.
According to the JFD survey conducted by BVA in partnership with Madame Figaro (March 2022), today 83% of French people do not perceive digital as a gendered environment and 91% of men (85% for women) would encourage their daughter to work in such an environment.
“This is the first time that such optimism of will has been shown! In 10 years, we have succeeded in removing the preconceived notions about digital professions, but equality in terms of financing between women and men must be achieved. This is why I will devote the next few years to financing women entrepreneurs.” Delphine Remy-Boutang Présidente, Founder JFD & the Bureau.
