JFD GABON – Noircir Wikipédia
If the representation of women on Wikipedia is low (20%), it is even more critical for black women (5%). This is the reason why JFD is raising awareness among the general public and carrying out actions with Noircir Wikipedia, a project co-founded by Ivonne González. Blackening Wikipedia aims to fill the absence of references, articles, information on African culture, personalities, and the African and Afro-descendant diaspora in the Wikipedia online encyclopedia.
Saturday, July 10, JFD GABON is hosting its first contribution workshop “Noircir Wikepedia” (Blackening Wikipedia) led by Ivonne González and Gala Mayí-Miranda.
They will train in the creation, writing, and enrichment of articles on the online encyclopedia. Following this training, the participants will become contributors and blacken Wikipedia with digital women who have remained invisible until then on the platform.
Registration open to all French-speaking Africa for online participation. Limited physical places at JFD GABON.
