After Europe and Africa, JFD is launching in Canada and unveils its 2024 programme

In addition to the new edition of the Margaret Awards, under the high patronage of the President of the French Republic :

  • JFD is spreading its influence internationally: after Europe, Africa, heading for Canada!

  • With just a few months to go before the opening of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, JFD will be putting the spotlight on women ” athletes of innovation “, in a book published by Flammarion.

Backed by its international network, with 20 million people reached worldwide, over 50,000 active members and more than 1,000 start-ups accelerated since 2012, JFD is presenting its 2024 programme, with a series of new initiatives and a growing international reach.

JFD extends its impact to Canada, after Europe and Africa

The start-up scene is characterised by its international ambitions. It is this openness to the world that is driving JFD to expand its presence in Canada in addition to consolidating its impact in Europe and Africa. Launching concrete actions, influencing future policies and revealing new Canadian tech female leaders to major players will be at the heart of the JFD’s activities.

“The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Canada is proud to join forces with JFD. Together, we are strengthening our commitment to a better future for women entrepreneurs in tech. We welcome the 2023 Margarets to the very first cohort of our new accelerator “Le Transatlantique”, entitled “Cap vers le Canada”. They will benefit from support worth 10,000 euros, enabling them to gain a better understanding of the Canadian market and establish themselves successfully there,” says Julien Tougeron, General Manager of the French Chamber of Commerce in Canada.

Already involved with the Abeona Network, Canada’s leading Franco-Canadian diversity network, JFD is forging close relationships with Canadian organisations working to develop the startup tech ecosystem, opening the way to new international business opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

JFD will also have the solid support of the international law firm Dentons, both in Montreal and Toronto, enabling its members and partners to hold key discussions with Canadian decision-makers. With their support, JFD is also becoming a partner of the France-Canada Chamber of Commerce, and will be presenting the award for the best Canadian start-up in France on 30 November at its gala under the patronage of Olivier Becht, Minister for Foreign Trade, and the Honourable Stéphane Dion, Canadian Ambassador to France.

Launching the JFD Nights

Each month, JFD will offer its members themed evenings to strengthen links, exchange ideas and develop new business opportunities together.

JFD is inaugurating its JFD Nights on 25 October. This event, certified by La French Tech, will look back on a decade of French entrepreneurship and innovation, and will be hosted by Lombard Odier bank to mark the 10th anniversary of La French Tech.

A book dedicated to the athletes of innovation, published by Flammarion

As Paris prepares to host the 2024 Olympic Games, the first gender balanced games in history, JFD will be releasing a book for the general public, published by Flammarion, showcasing the tenacity of exceptional women with similar backgrounds to top-level athletes. Because sport and technology have the same power: to put everyone on an equal footing.

JFD is partnering with ViveS to support women by giving them back their rightful place in the economy.

JFD is partnering with ViveS, the Bayard Group’s medium for women’s economic and financial independence, to promote female leadership and its contribution to economic development.

With its free weekly newsletter every Thursday, its podcast Osons l’Oseille and its video training courses, ViveS media helps women to take the pressure off their relationship with money, manage their career paths and take their full place in business and the economy.

Through joint and targeted actions, JFD and ViveS media will continue to act on three fundamental levels:

  • Inspire by promoting role models
