JFD unveils the 2022 finalists for les Margaret Awards

Under the high patronage of the President of the French Republic

 

JFD UNVEILS THE 2022 FINALISTS FOR LES MARGARET AWARDS 

and invites the public to vote for their favourite finalist from 1 to 8 February on joinjfd.com 

 

For the first time, JFD is involving the general public in the election of les Margaret from 1 to 8 February. The public’s votes will count for one in the jury’s deliberations, which will be held on February 10 at la Sorbonne in Paris. The laureates will be revealed on March 8 during an exceptional ceremony on the occasion of JFD’s 10th anniversary, at the Pullman Paris Montparnasse. Christel Bories, Chairman and CEO of Eramet is the patron  of this 10th edition. Les Margaret Awards by JFD is held under the high patronage of the President of the French Republic.

​​For its 10th edition, JFD presents the 2022 finalists of les Margaret Awards. Among them are the next winners who will be revealed on March 8. They will win the JFD’s growth accelerator programme, which includes media exposure worth €1 million, mentoring and coaching in collaboration with JFD partners, digital equipment, speaking opportunities in Europe and Africa, membership to the JFD network, scholarships for les Margaret Juniors, etc.

Co-founder & CEO FreshSource, Egypt’s first business-to-business agricultural platform, which streamlines  the fresh produce value chain and empowers farmers. (Egypt)

Founder & Executive Director Chil AI Lab, which provides artificial intelligence technology to improve access to cancer diagnosis in reproductive health. (Uganda)

  • Sue BLACK: Advocating for greater recognition and support for women in computing

Professor of Computer Science at Durham University, Sue has spent the last 20 years campaigning for greater recognition and support for women in computing through TechUpWomen for instance. The programme offers training in digital technology for women from disadvantaged backgrounds. (United Kingdom)

  • Caroline JAMIN: Innovation serving the energy transition to prepare the future 

In charge of the Business Acceleration & Open Innovation department within the Innovation division of the Marketing & Services branch of TotalEnergies, she supported the transformation of the Marketing & Services branch through the development of 16 projects on mobility, customer centricity, digital or CSR topics. (France)

  • Elodie PERTHUISOT: Digital technology at the heart of the food transition and environmental protection

Executive Director of E-Commerce, Data and Digital Transformation for the Carrefour Group, she leads the accelerated development of e-commerce and pilots the activity of the drive and delivery services, and manages the digital teams of Carrefour group. (France)

 

Africa 

Executive Director Partners West Africa, Adjaratou has developed a clean, safe, sustainable and connected mobility project with motorbike taxis. (Senegal)

  • Imogen MAGUIRE: The Airbnb of charging stations for electric vehicle drivers

Imogen, 18, is developing PowerNow, an app to solve the shortage of charging stations for electric vehicles. This Airbnb for EVs geolocates private charging points available nearby. (United Kingdom)

  • Oana PATRU: The Shazam of film and TV actors and actresses

Oana, 18, is developing FaceFind, a facial recognition app capable of instantly recognising actors from around the world. (France/Romania)

  • Allyah SEMIAI: A bubble of love and restore confidence to victims of school bullying

Allyah, 14 years old, is developing a PWA, a progressive web application to fight against school bullying: reports, help and support for victims, testimonies from former victims, etc. (France)

 

Africa 

  • Maylis KOUAKOUA: Raising teenagers awareness of the dangers of internet through gaming

Aged 13, is developing a smart  game to make young teenagers aware of the dangers of the Internet. (Gabon)

15, created MTutor, an e-learning platform designed to provide an adaptable, scalable, safe and secure learning tool. (South Africa)
